Types of dates and their properties

The date palm is native to Mesopotamia, the strip of land between the Tigris and the Euphrates. Medjool Date

At its good point of maturity, this fruit is dark, wrinkled and soft, making its skin easily peel off. They are excellent for pastries and sweets. Barhi Date

These dates are harvested when their skin acquires a pale yellow color with firm skin in this way it can be consumed in a few weeks from its harvest, as the days go by it becomes somewhat more juicy and tender but does not reach that typical sweetness of the other dates. The consumption of this variety is done when the fruit is still fresh without going through the natural maturation and drying process like the rest of the dates.

Khudary Dates

This type of date is smaller but still is even more juicy, note that this date is very soft and very sweet so it can remind you of honey. The humidity inside when this date has matured at its optimum point, the skin takes on a dark color and the texture becomes somewhat dry.

Ajwa Dates

Ajwa is a species of dates that grows in the city of Medina, whose shape is larger than the Sihani and its color is darker. All dates have curative properties, but Ajwa dates are the most recognized for their qualities.
